Make a Friend of Your Breath (Live 4 Week Class - Zoom)

Join us for our new course, Make a Friend of Your Breath: Exploring the Impact of Breathing on Whole Person Wellbeing.

Our Spring class runs May 13 - June 3 (Tuesdays 7:00-9:00 pm ET). 

Make a Friend of Your Breath is a powerful, experiential journey into developing a deeper, more conscious awareness of Breathing in your daily life. The intent is to create a stronger relationship with your breath, your constant lifelong companion, for your optimal wellbeing.

Breathing is our most fundamental way to generate energy, and our most powerful tool for internal self-management - a personal Reset Button. Developing an intimate relationship with our breath is key to a successful, long term self-care strategy for improving wellbeing. 

Over four weeks we will explore Breathing through the lens of our whole person model (12 Primary Life Functions - see Wheel below), and discover the impact of Breathing on each Life Function and on our overall wellbeing. We also explore the science and physiology behind the global impact of breathing on whole person wellbeing.

We will learn core breath awareness skills as well as breathing practices drawn from Yoga and Qigong to support and enhance each Life Function. The result is a deeper, more integrated experience and understanding of the power of the Breath, as well as the acquisition of new breath awareness skills to serve your wellbeing for a lifetime.

Our journey around the wheel, viewed through the lens of Breathing, will help you gain a deeper, more integrated understanding our 12 Life Functions model which acts as our "Human Operating System". Our model also acts as the organizing principle for our Wellness Inventory Assessment & Wellbeing Program and our Wellness Inventory Coach Certification Training.

Make a Friend of Your Breath will help you grow your skills in using your Breath to deepen self-awareness, improve your capacity to internally self-regulate, increase resiliency, and to support mindful eating, moving, communicating, and a fuller expression of the potential of all Primary Life Functions on the wheel.

And most of all, the course will support you in making a better friend of your breath, your lifelong companion.

Course Objectives
  • Gain a fundamental understanding of the role of breath awareness and self-regulated breathing on our overall personal health and wellbeing from a whole person systems perspective.
  • Gain a deeper and more comprehensive working knowledge of the Wellness Energy System, our 12 Life Functions model, through the unique lens of the Breathing, the second Life Function. 
  • Learn how breath awareness and self-regulated breathing helps us shift our autonomic nervous system from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominant & from Protecting to Learning Mode.
  • Learn and experience how the Holographic Growth Process applies to Breathing, including its' impact on each Life Function and how each Life Function contributes to enhancing the our Breathing.

  • Discover the profound synergy between Self-Responsibility & Love and Breathing and how they can amplify our level of personal wellbeing.

  • Learn key breathing practices from the ancient sciences of Yoga (Pranayama) and Qigong, as well as contemporary breathing practices and their benefits.

  • Through a deeper, ongoing awareness of our breath throughout the day, and how it serves our wellbeing, and growing our skills around self-regulated breathing, to "Make a Friend of our Breath" - our constant companion through of life.

  • Learn how breath awareness and the use of breathing practices at the beginning (and during) coaching sessions allows both client and coach to became calm, centered, and present.
